Where can I take care of enterprise-class server file hosting for my small business?
I outsource hosting to my Exchange server, SharePoint server, the Web site server and soon organized VoIP services. Now, I wonder if I order my file server company to a hosted server. This would be for multiple users to access and synchronize your files securely with the help of backup services, disaster recovery, redundancy and location. Can you recommend a vendor to me? Please tell me more about the pros and cons, things to consider. Thank you!
Hi Steve: Yes, you can outsource your file server company. The quickest way to do this is to rent a fully managed dedicated server company in line that specializes in providing such service. It can get you up and running within days. Here are some functions required to buy: 1) At least 100 Mbps of bandwidth 2) redundant or mirrored hard drives 3) Fully managed service 4) Outside storage of server backup advantages is that a fully managed enterprise is responsible for patching and maintenance of your server so that you do not have to hire staff to do this work. Also, you do not have to worry about the logistics necessary to maintain a server and accumulated temperature in the office.
